INTAKE AND ADMISSIONS
During the intake appointment, the counselor will ask questions designed to provide a clear picture of the client's background and current situation. Information about the client's history of abusive behavior, any prior counseling experiences and alcohol or drug abuse will be requested.
The counselor will use this information to assess how to best help the client change his or her behavior. The client may be asked to attend alcohol or drug treatment prior to participation in the Abuser Intervention Program. The intake process takes approximately one hour.
