PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
The MSCFV Transitional Program is designed to assist clients with achieving their goals toward independence and a life free from abuse. With that premise in mind the Transitional Program operates from a client centered approach. The Transitional Services Coordinator will assist clients with identifying their goals and find community resources that can provide services to help meet those goals.
ELIGIBILITY
- Clients eligible for the MSCFV Transitional Program are those who have demonstrated a commitment to move past their abusive relationship and shown a desire to become self -sufficient and independent.
- Potential transitional clients must already be clients of MSCFV and be actively working with their Client or Legal Advocate.
- Clients must be in need of housing assistance.
- The individual should demonstrate the willingness to work with staff on identifying attainable goals and working to achieve them.
- If the client is not employed, they must be actively seeking employment, volunteer opportunities, job training or perusing educational endeavors.
- The client should be willing to maintain regular contact whether in-person or telephone, with Transitional Services Coordinator.
- The client should be willing to supply MSCFV with all documents that are necessary in order to advocate on their behalf (protective orders, custody papers, documentation of income, etc.)
- The client is willing to participate in any community resources that can assist them with rental payments, daycare costs, and any other expenses.
- MSCFV Transitional Program accepts any client who meets the eligibility criteria for the program, regardless of gender.
