COMMUNITY PARTNERS

In order to provide victims with a wide range of resources to help them overcome some of the barriers that prevent them from living independently, MSCFV enlisted the help of community partners to provide services to clients in the MSCFV Transitional Program.

Maryland Volunteer Lawyer's Service
Assists clients of the Transitional Program by identifying attorneys to represent clients with civil proceedings relating to divorce, custody, visitation and any ancillary legal matters such as housing issues, denial of public benefits, filing bankruptcy, consumer problems and so on.

Caroline County Library
Provides Transitional clients with use of computers and computer lab, information and referrals about family services in the community and assistance with finding employment information and resources.

Families First Play to Learn Center
Provides clients with transportation, support groups, community resource coordination, enrichment/personal skills development and mentoring.

Talbot County Health Department
Healthy family case management, addictions services, Healthy Start Program and other health department services are provided to clients of the MSCFV Transitional Program.

Kent Family Center
Provides an In-Home Interventionist to provide one-on-one parenting and support to families participating in the Transitional Program.

These community partners not only provide direct services but they also serve on a community task force to develop a referral system, identify additional community resources and to develop a resource directory. It is through this collaboration and coordinated effort that the Transitional Program is able to give hope to victims of domestic violence to live a life free from abuse.
